Red cells with neutrophil

Floating red cells packed with proteins and gases take and give oxygen and carbon dioxide, while the odd white cell patrols by. The blood is a fluid river of nutrients and gases. But among all these cells floating in thick plasma the blood carries much more: messages and messengers, hormones and enzymes, viruses, antigens. Circulating we find a full set of life’s tools and problems, in every millilitre, in every moment in time.
